• Purpose / Function:

  • Collects condensate from steam or process lines before it reaches sensitive instruments.

  • Protects instruments such as pressure gauges, transmitters, and control valves from high-temperature condensate.

  • Prevents water hammer and ensures accurate pressure measurement.

• Material Standard: P11 alloy (Chromium-Molybdenum steel) suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure steam service.

2. Material of Construction

• Body & End Caps: P11 steel (Chromium 1%, Molybdenum 0.5%)

• Drain / Vent Connections: P11

• Welding: High-temperature compatible welding procedures (TIG / SMAW)

• Corrosion Resistance: Designed for steam, condensate, and moderate chemical environments

• Surface Treatment: As per plant requirements (painted or coated externally for corrosion protection)

3. Design Features

• Vertical cylindrical or bottle-type vessel

• Inlet: Top or side from steam / process line

• Outlet: To instrument or condensate return line

• Drain: Bottom drain (manual or automatic)

• Vent: Optional top vent for air release

• Wall or pipe-mounted support bracket for stability
